About the role

Lead the implementation of the CM&S transformation program in collaboration with the major change programs (Axial;  End to End Clinical Trials Planning and major projects or CI initiatives) and the CM&S Leadership team delivering the committed business outcomes expected from the program whilst ensuring ongoing delivery of the portfolio of clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements the overall CM&S transformation detailed program plan building a comprehensive change management strategy including communication, engagement, and training activities to ensure adoption.

  • Ensures the program plan is fully aligned and coordinated with the broader scope of the Axial and End to End Clinical Trials Planning programs plus other CM&S projects (inc major CI initiatives).

  • Develops and delivers a comprehensive communication strategy across CM&S and to other key stakeholders to inform, educate, align and engage people on progress of the transformation

  • Works with the CM&S LT to develop and deliver a new CM&S organisational model (including the required culture to support it) across all roles and geographies to enable full exploitation of Axial; and End to End Planning digital and process changes

  • Manages the capability uplift required by the new organisational model and ensures enduring capability programs are in place for all employees

  • Tracks and reports KPIs related to the overall transformation program

  • Ensures the change impact is managed across the various CM&S functions to avoid overloading the organisation whilst delivering the targeted business outcomes.

  • Builds and delivers an effective stakeholder management plan for CM&S and other key interface groups.

  • Identifies and effectively mitigates program risks

  • Works with line managers to ensure rapid adoption of changes brought in by Axial and the End to End Planning programs

  • Leads a network of change agents across CM&S and links in with change and communications leads in the Axial and End to End Planning programs

Essential Skills & Capability

  • Degree, preferably in scientific or supply chain related subject, or equivalent qualification/experience.

  • Experience of major transformation programs

  • Proven experience of leading complex change

  • Excellent understanding of project and change management approaches

  • Management experience in a supply chain environment

  • Experience of global working and strong cultural awareness.

  • Excellent collaboration skills

  • Business acumen and ability to work effectively across multiple SET areas

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good influencing, negotiating, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of clinical supply chain

  • Experience of working in major digital transformations.

  • Knowledge of AZ R&D operating model

  • SAP/OMP experience
